Firstly, preparing a wedding car to the exacting standards expected by brides, mothers and other family members is far more demanding than a normal taxi job. A wedding car must be gleaming inside and out in order to look great in the wedding photos and video and to do justice to your day. The ribbons (correct colour of course!) and floral decorations must be prepared and the champagne duly chilled. And after the event he must valet the vehicle again, taking extra care to remove confetti from under the seats and tissues from the seat pockets. The chauffeur must also be immaculate. Even the route needs to be throughly prepared and perhaps even a test run undertaken so that the timings are perfect.

Secondly, the time involved in performing wedding duties properly for a conscientious chauffeur, is far greater than a regular transport service. 2. What details should I provide to ensure an accurate quote and outstanding service?

Please provide as much relevant information as possible! With full information we can provide a full and impeccable service to your (and our own!) high standards. We will need to know:

- accurate times
Our chauffeurs will always arrive ahead of schedule but we need to be clear exactly what time you expect to see them and exactly what time you expect to (1) leave and (2) to arrive

- accurate dates!
Of course most wedding couples choose a traditional Saturday wedding and that in turn can mean higher prices. Choosing a Friday or a Sunday wedding is one way to keep costs down and also to ensure that the car of your choice is available on that day.

- accurate locations, including postcodes.
We do have an encyclopaedic knowledge of most wedding and reception locations in this area but we can still find new ones! Perhaps the reception venue has recently changed its name (perhaps it has a website with full location details?). Perhaps you could check with the vicar exactly where he expects the wedding car to draw up? Is there sufficient parking outside the church for the wedding cars to wait? Do you have a preferred route for the journey - past an old meeting place perhaps?

- how many cars and how many journeys would you like?
is the same car to be used to collect other family members? from the same location? would you like the cars to be colour matched? how many people do you expect to travel in each vehicle? would you like the wedding car to wait at the reception and then carry the wedding couple on to the airport or cruise line in order to begin their honeymoon in style?

3. Good questions to ask.

Can you see a picture of the actual car or are you being shown a library image?

Ask friends if they have had any good experiences with chauffeur companies and wedding car firms.

What will the chauffeur be wearing? Our chauffeurs will wear freshly pressed, dark suits and chauffeur caps as standard.

Remember if you need the car to drive you to the airport after the wedding are they licensed to do so? - Wedding cars do not need a special license but private hire vehicles do. All our vehicles have the necessary licenses.

Are they insured for Private Hire journeys? All our vehicles are insured for Private Hire journeys as well

What are their contingency plans if there is a problem with the car or driver on the day? Your Wedding Car company needs to be big enough to be able to provide suitable replacement vehicles and chauffeurs at short notice if required, but small enough to take an immediate, personal concern in your absolute satisfaction.
